The Ultimate Stocking Competition 2008
Now that we’ve finished stuffing turkeys, it’s time to start stuffing stockings! That’s right, folks: MoltenChocolate’s annual Stocking Stuffer Contest is officially on! Have you been pining for a new pair of gloves, but don’t know how to get the word out? You’re in luck, because Santa Claus himself reads my blog everyday (Google told me). What do you want in your stocking this year? Leave a hint for Santa in a comment below and automatically recieve a fabulous MoltenChocolate prize! Your stocking wishes don’t necessarily have to be realistic and extra points are awarded for creativity.
Here are a few things I’m hoping for this year:
- An acai berry
- Something handmade
- Salad hands
- Real maple syrup
- The world’s largest plastic container of reduced fat peanut butter
- Plastic baggies
- Givenchy or Bvlgari perfume (Givenchy: the one in the purple bottle, Bvlgari:classic)
- Jewelry cleaning cloth
- 2 bottles of vanilla extract
- Baking soda
- Baking powder
- Sesame seeds
- Small gift certificate to istockphoto.com (like $5-$10)
- Sturdy wide toothed comb for wet hair
- Burned movies: Anne of Green Gables The Continuing Story (not AofGG or AofA, which I already have, but the 3rd edition), Home Alone, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady
- Dried cherries & dried cranberries in large quantities
- Magazine subscription
- Interesting wine glass charms
- Something from Etsy.com
- Jewelry box, if it fits, mostly with spaces for earrings & necklaces
- Books
- A year at home with the family
- Tickets to a theater show or concert
- Trip to Paris or other interesting European city
- Paper panettone molds (good luck, Santa, they’re like impossible to find!)
- And, if Santa’s really feeling spendy this year, a really good digital camera, but this is optional
Remember, everyone who participates receives a fabulous prize! If you need some ideas, try checking out the entries from years past:
The Ultimate Stocking Competition 2007
Merry Christmas!
If Santa could stick a check in my stocking for the exact balance left on my student loan I would be appreciative. I promise I won’t ask for anything else! Well, maybe some new x-stitch supplies…
OK, I will finally bite on this one. 🙂 Here is my list!
Socks, as always. This is a perennial stocking stuffer because I get holes in my socks pretty easily.
Glass beaded necklaces – especially red or dark blue
Post it note flags
A velvet blazer jacket
A colorful satiny scarf
Stickles glitter glue in every color
A tool for cutting circles – theres a specific one I want that is magnetic.. wohoo
An aluminum water bottle
Gift certificate for a fancy dinner at Vin Rouge, Piedmont, or Jujube
Dark blue leather purse
Leather ballet flat shoes in black or blue
One of Gwen Stefani’s perfumes (the containers are soo cute. Let’s just assume they smell good)
Primary color ink pads
My spendy santa wish list item: an ITouch ipod with tons of gigabytes for video podcasts. He already got me my other spendy wishlist item, the Silhouette craft cutter. I am spoiled!
I also enjoy Kate’s wish list item. haha. That would be handy, though I’d like it even better if he could restore my 401k from the recession.. that’d be hot.
At least we’re not retiring any time soon. My boss is retiring in 2 years – 401k disaster in 3…2…1…
Here is my list:
My three daughters, grandchildren, ex-husbands (2), mom all healthy and happy
A white, sandy beach with ocean waves and no detritus where I could swim nude
Large supply of 35 SF sunscreen
A flat bellied, well muscled good looking man (near my age or up to 15 years younger) to apply the sunscreen and
play games and do jigsaw puzzles with me
A small cottage that has a welcoming feeling about it and a big enough table for the puzzles, along with other comfortable furniture.
Friendly neighbors (not too close by) who like to drop in
Unlimited supply of Russell Stover French Mints
A new puzzle magically appearing each time one is completed
A cleaning lady or gent
A trip to Australia to meet my pen pal who calls himself 100LoveSongs but whose name is Chapeau
A list of all the books I have ever read so I can read them over again
Now for the practical stuff:
A perfume that smell good on me
Hair clips and unique barrettes
Carrie’s chocolate cookies
Nicole’s hazelnut roll and fabulous chocolate macaroons
Celia’s shish kababs and fruit kababs I looked it up–it’s the right spelling!)
A chance to see and spend time with all my cousins, my children’s cousins and their families
A new winter coat with lots of pockets (kind of like the one I have, but not so garish)
Hiking trails with a variety of birds close by
The stick-to-itiveness to exercise and get back my muscles
a digital camera
Some nice new plants (I promise to water them and talk to them)
One set of sheets for a twin bed, actually, made that three sets of king sized sheets
for me and my well muscled man (I know, this goes on the unrealistic list)
A better lamp for my living room
I had a lot more on my first list but actually all I want for Christmas is my teeth to stop moving and to see my family.
Oh, also, enough money to pay off my school loan
You didn’t say how big the stocking would be.
