New Job
I think I may have gotten a new job this morning!! (I’m 99% sure, just waiting to see tomorrow morning if what they wanted to do about working papers is actually going to work out). It’s PERFECT. I’ll give you more details in the next couple days. Here’s our website to whet your palate: AlbaBarolo.com
I like the new look of your website. By the way, it’s wet not “whet your palate”. AlbaBarolo’s website needs some work though. Great logo but what’s with the links?? There aren’t any. It needs your attention desperately. Hope the job works out.
That is so exciting that you might have found a job! It really does sound perfect! Make sure you tell them on day one you need time off in May!!
Can’t wait to hear the official word!
Congratulations on the (probable) new job! I hope it works out, and that you enjoy it! Are you settling back in ok in Italy? Hope all is well!
Thanks guys! The job is officially official, yippee! I’m really enjoying being a real professional in the working world (rather than an illegal immigrant in hiding posing as a cleaning maid). Highly enjoyable, and talk about taking steps up in the world! Ding!
Don’t worry Cait, I asked right away for the time off for the wedding. Dawn, will you be there??
Miss you all lots!
Actually after playing Scrabble on a recent snow day the word whet came up and as the result of much discussion, “whet your palate” would be correct. Whet in the sense of sharpen. Still suffering with a wickedly cold week of nasty weather. We are taking an exchange student from Argentina for a couple of weeks until there is a more permanant placement. Ben’s not thrilled but then, when is he?? His name is Carlos and right now he’s living in Pavilion, but the situation is not ideal. More later.
Oh Shira, That is wonderful! Congrats on your new job! I hope that all is going well. I hope to see you some time in the spring. Wishing you well.
Keep me updated on how things are going!

Congratulations Shira and Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
I’m so happy that you have been able to find a “real job”. It sounds great and I could do the links but what are you doing there?
I took a class this past week on the cheeses of Piedmonte. Most of them were absolutely wonderful.
There’s a new shop in Scarborough called The Cheese Iron and they carry cheese obviously but also chocolates and olives and breads and coffees and they have their own cheese cave. It’s a temperature and humidity controlled room for them to age their cheeses. Very interesting.
Love to you and Luca
