Funny Italian Anecdotes

There’s another planned shut down of all drinking water in Verduno tomorrow from 8AM to 4PM.  Apparently they’re doing maintenance on the local acquaducts.  (Yes the Romans built them and we still use them!)

Chickens are constantly escaping from their pens.  Almost everyday I see at least three or four random chickens wandering around aimlessly.  It cracks me up!  In today’s sighting there was an old man chasing after the aforementioned chickens and clapping his hands to try and make them go back where they belonged.

Oak is obsessed with the idea of having pet chickens. He wants the fancy brown eggs. His family had pet chickens a few years ago (while we were in college)… one of them was named “Elvis” because it had a big hairdo. I’m kind of afraid of chickens myself (i’m picturing them chasing me and biting with their chicken beaks)… lol. Our state fair is this month (it starts next week) so no doubt Oak will want to go look at all the chicken varieties.. sigh. LOL. Just get me to the deep fried food!

Hahahah! I remember his family having chickens while we were in college. I’m not sure about chicken personality …I seem to remember that you have to kind of tiptoe around them to get their eggs. Seth and Ben always got bit by the poultry when we went to Springdale farm as kids, so I suppose your fears are well-grounded in truth! You know that white eggs don’t exist here? They’re ALL brown!
