Becoming Jane
I was so excited to see Becoming Jane after hearing so much about it. The Friday before last I decided to get myself a video rental card and was so excited when they had the film I’d been waiting to see for months. But what a letdown. It wasn’t anywhere near as good as I had been hoping! Bummer. I think perhaps I built it up too much in my mind, and it would have had to have been another Anne of Green Gables in order to live up to my expectations…

Oh.. bummer, sorry you didn’t like it!! I guess I enjoyed it because I know pretty much nothing about Jane Austen. I had a feeling hard-core fans might be disappointed. Sigh! Though, according to Facebook our movie compatibility scores are extremely low… haha 🙂
It was still exciting to see a movie in that genre though. It seems like all we ever watch are those that are on TV–action adventure and mystery types that have been translated into Italian. Anne Hathaway is so pretty and I do enjoy her acting, so it definitely wasn’t a total loss. Plus the excitement building up to actually finding the movie and watching it –I was freaking out at the movie rental place (ohmygawdohmygawd I can’t-believe-they-have-it!)–gave me something to look forward to, so that was nice. I didn’t mean to imply that it was a bad movie, just not as great as I was hoping. Maybe if I had watched it in English it would have been better…it’s possible it lost something in translation…
